Warning: This program is not user friendly. If you are unfamiliar with Dr. J's Object Editor or Henry's DAT Maker program, do not attempt to use this program. You could seriously mess up your copy of Rollercoaster Tycoon Two. Neither Mike Young nor Interactivities Ink take responsibility for incorrect use of this program.
If, when following these instructions, you have a question, STOP. Do not continue. Ask your question in the forums of RCT2.Com. I check there regularly and will update these directions to make them clearer.
Copy (do not move) the ride, shop, restroom, or path object file to its own folder.
Start ridemaker.exe and LOAD the object file. Select if it is a path or a ride/shop/restroom. In our example, we are using the bumper boats, so we are selecting a ride.
You need decode the dat file. Click the Disassemble button. It will say "Finished" in the "Decode File name" when done.
Extract the bitmaps by clicking on the "Extract Bitmaps" button. This will create a bitmap for every frame in the ride in the folder. These bitmaps are colored for easy import into Dr. J's Object Editor. The extract will also create a file called "pos.txt". This file tells where every bitmap is shown in the ride animation. Click Here for sample objects made by the bumper boat graphics.
